We already knew Lake Gaston is one of the greatest places in the world but it seems there are a lot of others who agree and this week, the area was declared the number one lake getaway all over the United States by BuzzFeed, Inc. an its readers.
In a reader’s poll, according to staff writer Michelle No, Lake Gaston was received the most votes and beat out Smith Mountain Lake, Va. and Lake Tahoe, Calif.
“Beautiful quiet coves and a killer main lake make it easy for people of every age to fall in love with this place. And it’s on the state line so you can swim from one state to the next in a single afternoon,” said one reader comment.
